From concept to completion: what to expect when you hire us

From the drawing board to your dream home, if you're wondering what to expect when you hire us, we've created this step-by-step guide outlining the timeline and process for a home refit.


Step 1: Get in touch

You've decided you'd like to remodel one or more of the rooms in your home - the first step is to get in touch with our friendly team by calling us on 01278 789849 or emailing us at info@bentonfurniture.com.


Step 2: Book a design visit

Once you've made the initial enquiry, we will book you an appointment with a designer from our team to visit your home. If you already have your own set of plans and designs, we'll ask you to email these over and our designer will call you back to discuss in more detail.





Step 3: Designer home visit

Your assigned designer will visit your home to evaluate the space, take measurements, and learn more about the inspiration and vision for your new room - from which appliances you require to your preferred style of furniture and overall design aesthetic.


During this visit, we'll also discuss some of logistics, including if you have your own appliances already or wish to supply these yourselves, and if you require us to provide any additional services from trades people such as plumbers, electricians, or builders. If you have your own contacts, we can work with them, but if not, we have our own recommended trades people we know and trust, so you can rest assured every detail will be taken care of.


Step 4: Drawing up the plans and quotes

Once your designer has visited your home, they will draw up your set of plans and provide a quote for the project. This will include plan views, elevation views, and 3D drawings. These initial plans can be amended as much as needed until you are happy and we are always here to listen to your ideas and answer any questions or concerns.





Step 5: Final design meeting

When everyone is happy with the plans, we'll have one final meeting to discuss the finer details of the project - this can include looking at colours for units, worktop colours, and other furniture, as well as handles and any other finishes. Your units can be finished in any colour, including Farrow & Ball's award-winning range so you'll have plenty of options to choose from.


Step 6: Deposits are paid and work begins

At this stage, we'll ask for a deposit to be paid and then work can begin on your dream home! Our lead times are roughly 10-12 weeks from concept to delivery, but we will be able to give you a firm date for delivery nearer the time.





Step 7: A Benton customer for life

Once we've refitted a room in your home or created a piece of bespoke furniture for you, you'll be a Benton customer for life. We're always at the end of the phone if you have any questions or queries for years to come.
